On Monday we celebrated Amelia's 9 month birthday while we were on vacation in Lake Geneva, WI (more to follow on our trip.) We actually celebrated Allison's 9 month birthday while we were on vacation in Virgina Beach, so I thought it was kind of fun that we were able to get a similar picture of Amelia at the same age.
Amelia is getting so close to crawling. She gets on all fours and rocks back and forth. She also does push-ups. We think it will be a matter of days before she starts crawling. While I am excited for her to reach a new milestone, it does present new challenges. Mia was always content sitting on the floor and playing with her toys. Now she will get on her tummy to try to crawl and quickly gets frustrated. We spent a lot of time on our vacation picking her off the floor and sitting her back up, only to have her crying for help a minute later.
Amelia is easily entertained by Allison. She loves her big sister, however she is learning how to fend for herself, like sneaking toys away from Allison when she isn't looking, especially in the bathtub.
She is "talking" so much more. I love hearing her chatter. At times I have to look at the kids to see who is doing the talking as Amelia is starting to sound like Allison with the noises she makes.
Pool time is going much better as long as the water is warm. However with the temperatures the way they have been, we haven't taken the pool out of the garage much this summer.
Still no teeth yet. Allison is just cutting her fourth 2-year molar, so now that we are done with her, I suspect we will start round two soon with Amelia. We should buy stock in Tylenol and teething rings.
