Hello..hello... I realize after taking a year and a half hiatus nobody is actually checking my blog; however, it has been gnawing at me that I gave it up. I regret not writing in here. It is such a good memory keeper for us and the girls always enjoyed looking back at the blog and remembering what we did. So I decided for our sake, I would start back up again.
So what has happened in the last 20 months...well a lot. For one thing, I started working again and for the first time since having kids, I'm working full time. I really enjoy my job and the people I work with. Although I still get twinges of sadness knowing that I'm full time. I always enjoyed working 3-4 days a week because I still had a day or two where I could do something special with the kids. However, I try to take full advantage of the weekends and spend quality time with them. And luckily for me, I get half days on Fridays during the summer, so last summer, I tried to do something fun each week which included berry picking, splash pads, swimming, and fun spots like Jesters Court.
Amelia started school last year. She was in Young Fives and loved her teacher. She is in Kindergarten now and enjoys her time there as well. She is second grade reading and math level, so we worry about her getting bored, but we try to challenge her at home.
Allison is doing great at school and is in the advance group in reading and math. She has grown quite a bit this year both in height and maturity. She has found a group of friends that she enjoys hanging out with I get the luxury of helping out in the classroom at lunch time once a week. It is a great way to get to know their teachers and classmates. Luckily my boss is great about letting me take time off to go on field trips and help out at class parties.
Let's see what else has happened - we enjoyed the holidays, had birthdays, went to Disney!!, cracked up laughing at stuff Amelia said, and enjoyed watching Allison learn new things and develop into a young girl.
I have a cool app on my phone that shows what I posted on Facebook on that day since I created by account. I posted a lot of my Allisonisms and Amelisms on Facebook, so I will occasionally post on here some of the stuff I posted while I was taking my blogger hiatus. This way, hopefully I can keep those memories in one spot.
Brian celebrated his 5th anniversary at work this past October, which in some ways seems hard to believe and in other ways it seems like a life time ago. In January 2015, it was the 10th anniversary of when Brian proposed to me. Really??? How did that happen? 10 years ago already!!
Hopefully now that I have a laptop accessible, I will be more likely to keep up on the blog.
