Here is a video from the first day that Allison saw Amelia. As you will see, she got a little too excited about seeing her little sister
This video is from when we brought Amelia home from the hospital.
So far Allison has done very well with Amelia. We just have to watch Allison closely as she doesn't realize that she has to be gentle with the baby. She is very curious about the baby and always want to check her out when she is in her bassinet. We thought that might be a safe place to put Amelia, but Allison figured out that she can step on the bottom rail of the bassinet and peer into it. I think it helps that Amelia has a bunch of hair for Allison to "pet." She is very fascinated by the baby's hair.
Hopefully this is just the beginning of a great friendship. My wish is that my girls grow up realizing how special it is to have a sister and are always close.
Overall Allison has been great about the whole deal. She did wonderfully while I was in the hospital. A huge thanks goes to both our parents. Brian's mom came over at 4 am to stay with Allison and my parents took over while I was in the hospital. My biggest fear was that she would be clingy when I came home and not understand why I couldn't pick her up. So far that hasn't been an issue. She and her dad have become extra special buddies this past week and she really relies on him.

WHAT sweet videos and pictures, Maribeth. She is preciuos and Allison is too cute with her :)
Oh! This brought a tear to my eye. I've always wanted a sister. I kinda want Maria to have a sister too. I bet they are going to be best buds. I cannot wait to see their interaction (which I assume you'll be posting on your blog).
They will be best buds for sure! Great videos. Allison looks so excited.
hahahahahahaaa!!! I love it! She is SO EXCITED - it's as if you got Allison her own "pet"! ( I mean that in a good way!) I love it!
Does Allison have hair envy?
Seriously though, those videos are so incredibly precious. Thanks for sharing them! Allison's going to be such an awesome big sister. I can't wait to read more stories about their interactions.
Willa and I are catching up on your blog tonight. I think she thinks that all "big" kids are getting babies of their own this season.
She and I both giggled over the videos. So, so sweet.
I like how Brian is telling both girls that they're both cute in different ways. Aw.....
