Allison's First Easter

Allison enjoyed her first Easter. She participated in her first Easter egg hunt. The Easter Bunny hid some eggs for her and she had fun rolling from pile to pile trying to pick up the eggs. The only bad thing is those darn eggs roll so easily, so she couldn't get a good grip on them. After the egg hunt, she discovered her basket which was filled with sweet potato puffs, teething biscuits, a bib, and a ring toy.

After she played with her new toys, we went to church where she received lots of attention from the people around us. She looked so darn cute in her Easter dress, how could she not get lots of attention. She kept herself entertained by playing with her shoes; mom isn't into accessories so wearing shoes was a new thing for Allison.

After church, I had to head to work for our Easter Brunch. I was lucky to be joined for lunch by Brian and Allison. All my regular brunch guests were excited to see Allison as they hadn't seen her since she was six weeks old. Brunch was very delicious, especially the prime rib! It was nice having lunch together as a family and I didn't have to cook. Can't beat that.

Allison's First Easter Party

Allison experienced her first family Easter party this past Saturday. Every year we have a party for all the cousins. There is a egg hunt, a pinata, games, and a chance for the kids to color their eggs. Allison was a little overwhelmed by all the activity, especially since the party was during her nap time. She likes playing with the kids one-on-one, but when they all surround her at once, it is a bit too much. She also didn't want to stray too far away from her momma. I swear my family probably thinks Allison is never happy, because she is always crying when they see her. I promise, she is a happy baby. She just isn't used to being around 30 people at once.

Allison did enjoy seeing her cousin Jac, who is three weeks younger than her. She also enjoyed all the goodies she received. Her Nana and Papa and aunts spoiled her! Thank you to them for all the nice gifts.

Next year, she will be into all the activities. She will be running around trying to keep up with all of her cousins.

Dad, can I have a hug please?

Last night, when we were putting Allison to bed, I was sitting in the rocking chair with her and Brian was sitting on the floor next to us. After I fed Allison, she was sitting on the edge of my lap looking at Brian. She leaned over to him, like she wanted him to hold her, so Brian took her. She snuggled her head into his shoulder and gave him a hug. Let me tell you, that totally made my day. My heart completely melted.

Seven Months

Yes, I'm late on this entry. Not a big surprise huh?

Allison celebrated her 7 month birthday last week. She weighs 17.4 lbs - not sure how long she is, as we didn't measure her. She is sitting up like a pro, which means she can play on her own more. I love just sitting back and watching her play with her toys. She looks like such a big girl; I can't get over it. She loves books. She will sit on the bathroom rug and "reads" her book while I take a shower. It is so cute.

She can get her way around the room pretty well. She likes rolling on the floor, which is a good thing as it helps her crawling skills. She does the "worm" where she lays on her tummy and wiggles up and down - like she is at a 80's dance party. I'm just waiting for her to do the sprinkler.

Eating is still going well. This month we tried mangoes, avocados and pumpkins, which all were met with approval. I am working on table foods now - just Cheerios and rice cakes so far. She has figured out that Cheerios are food, but she hasn't figured out that she can put them in her mouth on her own. If she thinks I have one in my hand she reaches for my hand with her mouth wide open. Now we have two beggars - Ozzie and Allison. We put her in a high chair for the first time at a restaurant the other day. She looked so tiny in it.

Allison continues to be happy baby. She loves going out to watch people and to look at the lights in stores - Costco is our big entertainment for the week. Watching the carousel at the mall was a huge treat.
Thanks for checking in. I promise I will try to be better this month about posting.
