Seven Months

Yes, I'm late on this entry. Not a big surprise huh?

Allison celebrated her 7 month birthday last week. She weighs 17.4 lbs - not sure how long she is, as we didn't measure her. She is sitting up like a pro, which means she can play on her own more. I love just sitting back and watching her play with her toys. She looks like such a big girl; I can't get over it. She loves books. She will sit on the bathroom rug and "reads" her book while I take a shower. It is so cute.

She can get her way around the room pretty well. She likes rolling on the floor, which is a good thing as it helps her crawling skills. She does the "worm" where she lays on her tummy and wiggles up and down - like she is at a 80's dance party. I'm just waiting for her to do the sprinkler.

Eating is still going well. This month we tried mangoes, avocados and pumpkins, which all were met with approval. I am working on table foods now - just Cheerios and rice cakes so far. She has figured out that Cheerios are food, but she hasn't figured out that she can put them in her mouth on her own. If she thinks I have one in my hand she reaches for my hand with her mouth wide open. Now we have two beggars - Ozzie and Allison. We put her in a high chair for the first time at a restaurant the other day. She looked so tiny in it.

Allison continues to be happy baby. She loves going out to watch people and to look at the lights in stores - Costco is our big entertainment for the week. Watching the carousel at the mall was a huge treat.
Thanks for checking in. I promise I will try to be better this month about posting.

Allison's Photos

We had Allison's photos taken yesterday and they turned out great. She was looking very serious on all the photos. I was trying to hold off on her bottle, so she didn't spit up all over her outfits, however she was just too hungry. So I was going to feed her between outfit changes when I realized that bottle that I was 100% sure that was in her diaper bag wasn't there. (A bad momma moment) So we hurried up and finished the photo shoot.

Some Baby Out There is Wearing Allison's Pants

Mental Note: When buying a two-piece outfit, make sure the top and bottoms are both the same size. I was thoroughly confused last weekend when I was sorting through her nine months clothes. I couldn't figure out why she had two tops of the same color and one pair of pants that color in 9 months. I then realized that I had another pair of pants that matched the two tops in 12 months. Someone switched the pants on a outfit that I bought on clearance at Babies R Us. Luckily, I had another pairs of pants that I can match the top to.

How our hearts have grown...

A year ago today, we heard Allison's heartbeat for the first time. It was such a wonderful way to celebrate Valentine's Day. However this year was even better. The three of us went out to dinner and walked around the mall. Every time I looked at Allison in her cute little Valentine's Day outfit, my heart soared. She was in such a great mood and had fun watching all the things around her, especially the carousel at the mall. It was as though she was watching a tennis match since her eyes darted back and forth.

Brian and I couldn't have asked for a better gift, since not only can we hear her heartbeat if we so chose, but we can also hear her laughter and her newest trick - panting like a dog.

Pin the Heart...

Much to Allison's surprise, she discovers the real reason why she was invited to the Valentine's Day party....Pin the Heart on the Baby.

Ways to Keep Allison Amused #73

Whenever we go upstairs, I stop by the window so she can look out. She loves doing this and gets all excited. So I thought I would set her high chair by the window so she can look out. When she has successfully finished throwing her toys on the ground one-by-one it is time for something new.

Sittin' So Pretty

This week Allison starting sitting up by herself. She is getting pretty good at it. We still have to sit close by in case she tumbles over. This makes play time so much better though. She can reach for her toys. It makes it easier for her to put them in her mouth.
